Jewellery Care
Jewellery tells the story of your life with all the fun, the hurdles and the excitement that will patina and personalise your pieces. However, a little care will go a long way in preserving your jewellery and making sure it wears well over the years.
It is our hope in making our jewellery that each piece will be passed down and loved all over again by generations to come.
Following our care tips will help ensure this
Tips
A large portion of our jewellery is gemstone based. We see jewellery from the point of view of the stone and not the metal therefore there is a lot of exposed stone and little metal in our designs.
Our Gemstone and Pearl jewellery will last a lifetime with proper care and do not need polishing or cleaning. An occasional dry soft cloth will be enough to make them shine. Please avoid using commercial cleaning solutions on exposed stones.
For our metal based jewellery, such as Sterling Silver and 18k Gold, the occasional polish with a soft cloth restores the shine.
To clean further, mild soapy water and child’s soft toothbrush should do the trick or alternatively drop by, we are always happy to offer a complimentary deep clean and polish on all of our jewellery.
Gemstones and Pearls do not react well to perfume and unlike metal will not dent when dropped but will crack so please avoid putting on or taking off your jewellery over a stone surface. Also no clapping wearing a stone ring on one hand and a metal one on the other, as the impact of the metal against stone can crack your ring.
We strongly recommend your remove your jewellery before swimming, gardening or exercising to avoid mishaps.
Please contact us should an accident occur and your piece of jewellery need repair.
We guarantee our stringing for two years from purchase and will re-string your piece free of charge. After this time there is a stringing charge however repairs are not a profit centre, we charge you for our time and what it costs us to repair and shipping, nothing else.
Your Jewels should always be stored out of direct sunlight in the suede pouch or case supplied with the piece. Never allow your jewellery to come into contact with perfume, cosmetics or other chemicals.
Check your jewellery regularly for any wear and tear – check stone settings and necklace clasps are still secure.
